2 First Nation elections to elect chiefs and band councils
No change at the top for the Couchiching First Nation.
Richard Bruyere has been returned as chief.
Band elections were held Thursday.
Along with Bruyere, three incumbents were returned to the band council.
They are Sandy Bruyere, Peggy Loyie and Lucille Morrisseau.
The other elected to the band council are Armand Jourdain Sr., Ed Yerxa and Don Howels.
Meanwhile, the Big Island First Nation has a new chief.
Carl Junior Big Geoge was elected in band elections on March 1st.
Elected to council were Lenny Shawn Gibbons and Robert Stanley Handorgan.
