61-year old charged in drunk Valentine’s ATV accident
A 61-year old from Lake Helen First Nation has been charged with drunk driving after hitting a parked car with an ATV and fleeing the scene.
Nipigon OPP was able to locate the suspect vehicle and driver at their Lake Helen residence. The incident occurred on Valentine’s Day around 6 pm.
The full list of charges are as follows:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – over 80
- Operation while prohibited
- Fail to remain
- Fail to report accident
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Fail to wear proper helmet
- Drive off-road vehicle – no number plate
- Drive off-road vehicle – no licence
The accused is released and will appear before the court at a later date.
