Town hall meeting scheduled for All Nations Hospital project
There will be a town hall meeting later this month on developments for the new All Nations Hospital and a new long term care home.
Cheryl O’Flaherty is the President and CEO of Lake of the Woods District Hospital and says this will be a campus of care for the region.
“Our collaborative work has built a comprehensive plan for the future of health care in this region that includes a new regional hospital and campus of care, offering a blend of both western and traditional medicines,” O’Flaherty said recently during a visit of premier Doug Ford.
Jennifer Dreaver is executive director of Ogimaawabiitong Kenora Chiefs Advisory and says this has the potential to be a very important project for the region.
“The overall development of this site, for which the All Nations Hospital project and Wiigwas Elder and Senior Care Home are significant leading projects will undoubtedly be an economic driver for the entire region. Relative to us, this is our nation-building project.”
Wiigwas and the All Nations hospital will be co-located on the former Kenora Forest Products site on Lakeview Drive.
Wiigwas says their building will have 160 beds. 64 new and 96 redeveloped beds.
The town hall meeting will take place on November 17th, but a location has not been announced yet for the session.
