Sioux Lookout to look at new recreation facility
The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is looking at the possibility of building a new recreation facility.
It would also include a swimming pool.
The town is taking a two pronged approad to improving the community’s recreation facilities.
One is to fix up the existing Recreation Center.
Costs has been put a 7.2 million dollars over the next five years.
The other is planning for a new structure, but that could take another 10 years.
Brian MacKinnon is the town’s CAO & Municipal Clerk and says its important they do their due diligence.
“This planning work is an important step in ensuring Sioux Lookout has recreation facilities that remain safe, accessible, and responsive to community needs,” MacKinnon says in a new release.
“By taking a careful, informed approach now, we can support quality of life for residents today and in the years ahead.”
