Dryden council approves funding for Aaron Provincial Park
A new playground at Aaron Provincial Park is expected to be installed before the park opens for the season this year.
The City of Dryden plans to spend near $100,000 for the new equipment.
It includes swings, slides and other play structures.
The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks was not able to fund the whole project but did communicate that they would like to try to support 50% of the project and earmarked 25% or $25,000 towards the structure in their 2025 budget, with an additional 25% projected in 2026.
Other parts of the funding will come from the Aaron Provincial Park reserve fund and a $25,000 dollar application to the Dryden Tourism Development Corporation.
The old playground was deemed unsafe and was removed in 2024, meaning there was no play area at the park last year.
The company Blue Imp had the winning tender for the project.
