Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls medical clinic has a new owner
The Sunset Country Family Health Team is growing.
As of this month, it’s taking over the medical clinic in Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls.
Colleen Neil is the executive director of the health team and says residents in Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls can expect most of the same services they offer in Kenora.
“Allied health programs such as diabetes support, foot care, hypertension, memory clinic and a lot of the other programs that the Family Health Team has now, will be available to those who live in Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls, who access the clinic there,” says Neil.
Neil points out that there are other benefits for patients living in that community.
“We will have consistent physicians there. We will have a consistent nurse practitioner working out of that office with administrative supports as well as nursing supports.”
Neil says by taking over the clinic patients shouldn’t have to go to Kenora to see a doctor, unless they want to.
She adds that they are hoping to bring their services to the patients, rather than having to come in to see their physician.
