Woman charged after drug seizure in Constance Lake First Nation
A 41-year-old woman is facing trafficking-related charges after police searched a home in Constance Lake First Nation earlier this week.
Officers carried out the search on Mahikan Street on February 10 and arrested the suspect without incident. Police say they found suspected fentanyl, hydromorphone tablets, cash and other items linked to drug trafficking inside the residence.
The cash seized is estimated at nearly $1,500, while the drugs have an estimated street value of about $21,500.
The woman is charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
She appeared in court for a bail hearing on February 11 and was remanded into custody. Her next court appearance is scheduled for February 12.
