More snow and heavy wind hitting Thunder Bay
Heavy snowfall is moving through Thunder Bay and surrounding areas, where a Yellow Snowfall Warning remains in effect.
Environment Canada says significant accumulation is expected through the day, with the snow tapering off late this afternoon or evening.
The system is tied to an Alberta clipper tracking across Superior West and pushing east. Southerly winds gusting up to 60 kilometres an hour are creating blowing snow and reduced visibility.
Travel along Highway 11 and Highway 17 will likely be hazardous as conditions change quickly.
Roads and walkways are expected to become difficult to navigate as snow continues to accumulate, with improvement forecast from west to east later today.
