Portion of Coker Road to be closed again
A section of Coker Road will be closed again.
The area between Kelly Road to the east side of Rice Bay will be shut down as of tomorrow due to rising water levels.
The City of Kenora says the closure will affect all vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
Water levels have been rising on Black Sturgeon Lake, particularly on Rice Bay and the city is worried the integrity of Coker Road could be damaged.
Once water levels recede, the city will inspect the road to make sure it safe for re-opening.
That section of the road has been closed repeatedly since a flood back in the spring of 2022.
