Riverside Health Care hitting the links with MRI fundraising campaign
Golf season is just around the corner, and Riverside Health Care is preparing to host one of several tournaments this season.
Links for Local Care will help raise funds for the new MRI unit planned for La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances and upgraded digital radiography units at La Verendrye and Rainy River Health Centre.
Fundraising Director Holly Kaemingh says it is a first for Riverside.
“I was just trying to think a little bit outside the box,” says Kaemingh.
“I know we have a lot of golfers in our community and surrounding area, and it seems to be a very, very popular pastime in our region, so I thought, why not give it a try.”
The charity golf tournament will take place on Saturday, July 11th, at Kitchen Creek Golf Course.
Thirty-six four-person teams will be accepted to play a best-ball format.
It is a $600 entry fee per team that includes cart fees, green fees and a meal afterwards.
Kaemingh is also putting out a call for business support.
“We have some sponsorship opportunities if local businesses would like to get involved that way,” says Kaemingh.
“Some of them come with a team or 2, some are strictly sponsorship, like hole sponsors, where there’s an opportunity to advertise. We’re also accepting any in-kind donations, whether it be something for a prize, a silent auction item, or smaller items for golfer goody bags.”
Registration is now being accepted.
