American anglers fined for possessing too many fish
Catching too many walleye over the legal limit has landed a pair of American fishermen in hot water.
In October of 2025, the residents of Wisconsin were fishing on Sturgeon Lake north of Ignace, when they were stopped by conservation officers.
A check of their boat found 26 walleye, or nine fish each over the legal limit.
Some of the fish were skinned, making it hard to determine the species, which is also illegal.
They have pleaded guilty and have been fined $3,700 each.
