Drug trafficking investigation in Couchiching results in charges against 4 people
Three residents of Couchiching First Nation and a man from Toronto are facing drug trafficking charges.
All four were arrested after officers with the Ontario Provincial Police and Treaty Three Police Service executed a search warrant in Couchiching.
An unspecified quantity of cocaine, along with cash and items related to drug trafficking, were seized.
Charges were laid against a 32-year-old man from Toronto, a 37-year-old woman from Couchiching, a 70-year-old man from Couchiching and a 60-year-old woman from Couchiching.
The elderly man was also charged with obstruction and failing to comply with a probation order.
The 37-year-old was also arrested on outstanding warrants and was being held in custody pending a court appearance on June 5th.
All of the other individuals were later released and have separate court appearances in Fort Frances at a later date.
