Bail hearing delayed again in Halifax bomb threat case
A bail hearing for a Halifax man accused in connection with a threat against the U.S. Consulate has been delayed again.
The Public Prosecution Service says the matter was adjourned Friday at the request of the defence.
The accused remains in custody pending his next court appearance.
That appearance is scheduled for August 19 at 9:30 a.m. in Halifax Bail Court for a show cause hearing.
The 54-year-old man is charged with uttering threats and public mischief.
Police have said the case involves an alleged bomb threat against the U.S. Consulate in Halifax.
Police have also said a vehicle was parked near the consulate with a propane tank and flammable liquids inside.
The man was arrested Monday morning and charged Tuesday.
His bail hearing has now been adjourned multiple times.
No decision has been made on whether he will be released while the case moves through court.
