A little wine
As a bit of a wine geek, one of my favorite things to do is go through the LCBO online website and check out some of the bargains to be had.
Now, you might think wine and bargains are an oxymoron, but there are deals to be had.
The LCBO website has two areas worth checking out for budget inspired imbibing.
The Clearance section has many, many items that are marked down or because they are going to be de-listed.
One of the reasons I like to check out this area is there are deals to be had.
For instance, I bought this bottle of red wine made with a grape called Bobal.
Now, I’ve never heard of this particular grape, but the wine was very tasty.
It’s a Spanish grape and a quick look on the internet shows it’s grown mostly in a region called Utiel-Requena.
The bottle I bought scored 94/100 in the Decanter World Wine Awards.
I also bought a bottle of Australian Shiraz called The Fox and the Grapes, again, very tasty and for $15 quite the bargain.
I admit I’m fond of Shiraz, with its full body, and fruit forward taste.
While the Clearance area can have wines, beers or liquors with big discounts, often they are already sold out, or not for delivery, so check the comments out to make sure.
The other area I like to check out is the sale section.
While this section doesn’t have as big discounts as the clearance section, you can still purchase bottles are usually $1.50 to $2.00 off.
So, with Christmas just around the corner, it’s another way of saving your hard-earned dollars on a bottle of wine!
