Body of missing 71-year-old Buffalo Point man recovered
The Winnipeg Police Service Underwater Recovery Unit has found the body of a missing 71 year old man from the Buffalo Point First Nation.
He was initially reported missing on the evening of December 16th.
On December 19th, the Underwater Unit recovered his body.
He had gone out to his fishing shack, about 5 kilometers north of the Buffalo Point Marina in a side-by-side.
Police believe he hit as ice ridge, and his ATV went down, and he was unable to escape the vehicle.
The RCMP says the Winnipeg Police unit was used, because their Underwater Recovery team was required elsewhere.
