Change in location for the Remembrance Day service
A last-minute change to the venue for Kenora’s Remembrance Day Service.
Traditionally, it has been held in the auditorium of the former Legion building.
President of the Legion in Kenora, Jason Lava says unfortunately it’s undergoing some renovations this year and they had to change locations.
“We approached the city, and the city was graceful enough to help us out with the Pavilion,” says Lava.
“So, we’ll be at 10:30 sharp. Starting like we normally do in the auditorium. A little different from years in the past…dress warm!”
Lava says because of the new location, they had to change things up a little bit.
“We’ll be laying the traditional top 8 wreaths, but all the other wreaths that would normally be placed, will be prominently displayed on the stage.”
Lava says they hope to be able to have the Remembrance Day Service under the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion each year, going forward.
