Contracts awarded for Central and McLeod Parks
Work will resume at a couple of parks in Kenora this year.
Central Park and McLeod Park will see some activity this spring.
Director of Engineering and Infrastructure Greg Breen says the contract for Central Park, should complete that project.
“That project is officially awarded, and we’ll be starting work after spring thaw,” Breen told council during his project update during the Committee of the Whole meeting.
“So, that is new pathways, some additional play features, just general landscaping of Central Park between the community clubhouse and the playground.
In terms of McLeod Park, Breen says some work there will also be completed.
“The complete overhaul of the deck structure surrounding the tugboat and a new fully accessible ramp leading up to it. There’s a couple of other features that we’re not quite going to get to this round, but we will get to them in the future. Some additional seating and a pergola structure that’s planned near the washroom.”
Breen adds that the Coney Island play structure contract has also been awarded and work will likely start on it in July.
