Do you know what’s officially considered a retro console now? The Nintendo Wii U, Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3.
Those consoles only came out between the mid-2000s to early 2010s, so they aren’t exactly ancient. But if you have one at home, it might worth more following GameStop’s recent announcement. Even if it makes you feel old, they said, “GameStop would also like to remind the public that while these systems are now officially classified as retro, they are still very cool, and anyone who owned one at launch is absolutely not old.”
It’s interesting how many consoles are considered “retro” now. The The Game Boy Advance? Retro. The Nintendo 3DS? Retro. I can’t help but feel like I’m getting up there if the DS family is already considered retro…
