Federal NDP call for extension on comment on DGR
A call for an extension for public comment on the Deep Geological Repository proposal by the Nuclear Waste Management Organization.
Plans for the nuclear waste site between Ignace and Wabigoon have been submitted to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada.
This is a 1,200-page document and the deadline for comments is February 4th.
The NDP says there is clearly not enough time for people to properly read over and identify issues with the project.
The party says the government has the power to provide an extension, but the question is whether they want to.
