Fire crews contain kitchen fire in Spring Street building
A report of smoke coming from a Spring Street building drew a quick response from Saint John firefighters.
The department said in a social media post that crews were called to the multi‑unit building on Sunday and arrived to find smoke coming from the back of the structure.
Engine 1 and its four firefighters went inside to search for the source of the smoke and to check whether anyone was still inside.
Firefighters said the fire was found in the kitchen area of one unit and was contained before it could spread to other parts of the building.
The department said no injuries were reported, and no information has been released about the cause of the fire.
