Herb Green new chief on Shoal Lake #40
The Shoal Lake #40 has a new chief and council.
Band elections were held on Monday.
Herb Green has been elected chief.
He defeated three other people for the top job in the community.
Green picked up 69 of the 200 votes cast for chief.
10 people were in the running for band council, and three of the incumbants were elected.
Kara Redsky, Billy Wahpay and Brenda Freel were returned.
David Redsky is the only new member of the band council.
