Hospital Foundation receives boost from Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday proved to be very profitable for the Lake of the Woods Hospital Foundation.
$36,970 was raised online, by mail, by phone, and in person yesterday.
In total, the Hospital Foundation received 195 donations, more than double the number from last year.
Also, all donation challenges were reached with another 9 thousand dollars raised through three local businesses (Lake Country Financial Group-$1,000, Kenora Optometry Clinic-$3,000 and Northern Hearing Inc.-$5,000).
The donations were given through the hospital’s Tree of Life in memory of Alice Jardine.
The goal this year is to raise $60,000 for a video laryngoscope for the Emergency Department at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
