Kenora reps meet cabinet ministers at ROMA
The City of Kenora has a number of meetings set up with provincial cabinet ministers over the next two days at the Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference in Toronto.
Mayor Andrew Poirier says they have an important meeting with the Ministry of Finance.
“If you can recall the decision to look at the LCBO with controlled entrances, we’re going to bring that up again, and see where that’s at,” said Poirier in Toronto just prior to meetings at ROMA.
“Because we think that’s important piece for our policing costs and also for our community.”
Poirier adds they have a number of requests for the Ministry of Infrastructure.
“We always have a long list of asks. For example, Portage Bay Bridge going forward. We’ll have that discussion. And about other infrastructure needs leading into the Campus of Care.”
Kenora Council delegates, which also includes Bob Bernie and Barb Mason, will also talk with Ministers and Ministry staff on policing costs, and funding cost-sharing for the Unincorporated Area for the Kenora District Home for the Aged.
