Local sports for Monday, November 17th
The Kam River Fighting Walleye and the Fort Frances Lakers won both of their games over the weekend.
The Lakers beat up on the Red Lake Miners.
On Saturday, Fort Frances earned a 6-1 victory, followed by a 5-1-win Friday night.
Meanwhile, the Fighting Walleye got by the Ironwood Lumberjacks 3-2 on Saturday and doubled up the Lumberjacks 4-2 in the Friday night game.
The league leading Dryden GM Ice Dog had their hands full with the Thunder Bay North Stars.
On Saturday, the Ice Dogs fought off the North Stars 5-4 in overtime.
That came after a 5-1 win by the North Stars over Dryden on Friday.
The Ice Dogs remain in first place in the league standings with 29 points, and the Lakers are three points back, with a game in hand.
The Sioux Lookout Bombers were idle over the weekend and remain in third place with 23 points.
