Local sports for Wednesday, January 14th
The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are back in first place in the Superior International Junior Hockey League standings.
The Ice Dogs topped the Red Lake Miners 5-1 Tuesday night.
Kelby Diehl had a goal and an assist while Ryder Wolfe and Regan Anderson both had two assist games for the Ice Dogs.
In the meantime, the Fort Frances Lakers were blanked 5-0 by the Kam River Fighting Walleye.
Caleb Labelle had a goal and assist for the Walleye in that game.
The Lakers host the Ice Dogs in their next game Thursday night.
With Dryden’s win and the Lakers loss, the Ice Dogs regains first place with 45 points, and Fort Frances is one point back at 44.
Kam River is in third with 39 points.
