Long-time cash draw supporter wins Riverside jackpot
An area woman is January’s winner of Riverside Health Care’s 50/50 draw.
Carolee Strachan is the winner of $14,057.50.
Strachan is a long-time supporter of the regional hospital 50/50 draws.
“I used to only just support Riverside, but then I thought that’s a little silly if I want to really support
local care,” states Strachan in a release from Riverside.
“Our health care is made up of all the different hospitals here. Some services are provided in Dryden or Thunder Bay, just as people from those places access our hospital when they need it… The more we can put into resources for everybody, the better.”
Riverside’s monthly cash draws are helping to fund a new MRI unit at La Verendrye General Hospital.
The campaign is less than $250,000 from its $1.6 million goal.
