McKenzie Clearwater battles blaze on Highway 17 west
No one was injured in an early morning fire on Highway 17 just past the Highway 641 junction.
Fire chief of the McKenzie Clearwater Bay Fire Department Dale Charbonneau says the blaze broke out around 4:30 in the attached garage of a home.
Working fire alarms alerted the occupants of the fire and they managed to get out of the home.
By the time fire crews arrived at the scene, the garage was fully engulfed in flames, and the fire had spread to the kitchen area.
The Pellatt United Fire Department was called out for mutual aid with six fire fighters and a pumper truck.
Charbonneau says about half of the home was destroyed by the fire.
