Miisun donates to Kenora’s Fellowship Center
The Miisun Integrated Resource Management is giving back once again to the community.
A cheque for $6,000 has been presented to the Fellowship Center in Kenora for its programming over the holidays.
Bill Petiquan is chief of the Wabaskang First Nation and is the president of Miisun.
He says it’s a way of honouring the creator.
“Miisun is a group of people that push forward and try to achieve things for native people,” say Petiquan following the cheque presentation.
“This is one way of giving back to the creator, by giving his people food and this cheque that we gave.”
Petiquan adds that even though they are a forest company, they like to give back to the community when they can.
“This is a big opportunity for us to do something in our organization to help the needy, especially at this time of year.”
Each Christmas, Miisun like to donate money to local charities that help out people, who are less fortunate in the community.
