More Canadians choosing to recycle their batteries
More and more batteries are being diverted from landfills.
In 2025, the Call2Recycle program received more than eight million kilograms of batteries, the highest in the organization’s history.
February 18th is National Battery Day.
“This achievement reflects the commitment of Canadians across the country who are choosing to recycle responsibly to prevent fire risks and protect our environment for generations to come,” said Joe Zenobio, President and CEO of Call2Recycle Canada.
More than 60 million kilograms of batteries have been collected and recycled nationwide since Call2Recycle’s inception 30 years ago. That’s around the weight of 500 blue whales.
Call2Recycle has over 15000 locations nationwide.
