On-street parking ban declared in Saint John
City crews are still working to clean up after this week’s storm.
As a result, the City of Saint John has declared an overnight parking ban for the south/central peninsula.
The ban goes into effect at 11 p.m. Wednesday and extends through 7 a.m. Thursday.
Any vehicles remaining on the street after 11 p.m. in the south/central peninsula will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s risk and expense.
City-owned parking lots will be cleared for use by on-street parking residents starting Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The lots are on Peters Street, Sydney Street (Service New Brunswick) and Vulcan Street.
Vehicles parked in those lots must be removed by noon Thursday or they may be towed.
The Peel Plaza parking garage also offers a $5 overnight parking rate on nights a parking ban is in effect.
The rate is valid between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. Regular parking rates will be charged before and after those hours.
