Provincial Finance Minister to present fall economic statement at Queen’s Park
The Ford government will provide an update on the province’s finances on Thursday.
Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy will present a fall economic statement to MPPs at Queen’s Park.
He does not expect to deviate from the fiscal plan outlined in the provincial budget presented in May.
“Our mission is clear – to strengthen our economy, to drive a vision, and mostly to protect Ontario, protect families, workers, businesses and our future,” says Bethlenfalvy.
The province had previously projected a deficit of $14.5 billion for the 2025-26 fiscal year due to the impact of U.S. trade tariffs.
Bethlefalvy says even with those tariffs in place, the province will continue making investments that make Ontario the most competitive and attractive place in the G7 to invest, create jobs and do business.
“It starts with a plan that combines sound fiscal management with investments that protect Ontarians. Our government has remained steadfast in maintaining a responsible and forward-looking fiscal plan, one that protects Ontario while laying the groundwork for tomorrow.”
