Saint John police investigating hit-and-run in uptown
Police are asking the public for assistance as the look into a hit-and-run in uptown Saint John.
According to a release from the Saint John Police Force, officers were conducting a well-being check on Feb. 7, at approximately 6:13 p.m.
They were checking on an intoxicated male in front of a Duke Street address.
While conducting the check, the man complained of an injury.
After being assessed by paramedics, the man was taken to hospital to be treated for a broken leg.
When officers followed up with the man, he told them he’d been a vehicle at the intersection of King Square South and Charlotte Street around 6 p.m.
The suspect vehicle was described as a white sedan with a loud exhaust.
The driver was described as a white male in mid-20s to early 30s.
It’s believed there was a passenger in the vehicle, but no description was given.
The accident remains under investigation and police are asking any witnesses or anyone in the area that may have any video footage of the suspect vehicle at the time the collision occurred to come forward.
