Saint John provides snow-clearing update
The City of Saint John is continuing to work on clearing streets and sidewalks as the snow keeps falling Monday.
In a statement posted on social media, the City said crews are focused on keeping streets and sidewalks “safe and passable for residents.”
Another nine or 10 centimetres is expected and the storm is not forecast to end until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the post, street plowing will continue through at least 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Sidewalk plowing will continue through Monday, with a short overnight break, resuming at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.
There will no parking ban in the city Monday night.
The post offered some tips so residents can help crews clear snow as quickly as possible.
- Give plows extra space on the roads
- Avoid on-street parking where possible
- Avoid pushing snow from your property onto the streets and sidewalks
- Take your time and travel safely
