Scam circulating in Koochiching County
Residents of Koochiching County are being warned about telephone calls from someone claiming to be from the Sheriff’s Office.
Some of the calls ask for cash and request a meeting somewhere.
Others tell people that they have not reported for jury duty.
The Sheriff’s Office says the calls are scams, and that Deputies would never call anyone and request money.
