SIJHL semi-finals all one goal games
The Fort Frances Lakers rallied late Saturday night on home ice to edge the Kam River Fighting Walleye 5-4 scoring the winning goal with 7 seconds left in the 3rd period.
Pierce Gouin popped the winner for the Lakers.
That gives the Lakers a two game to none series lead in the best of seven semi-final.
On Friday night the Lakers Nickolas Fagnilli was the hero scoring in overtime to give the home team a 2-1 victory.
Meanwhile, the Thunder Bay North Stars stole two on the road in Dryden beating the GM Ice Dogs Saturday night 4-3.
Mitch Vanderwey had two including the winner. Adrian Mendoza had a pair in a losing cause for the Ice Dogs.
On Friday night it was a goaltenders battle as the North Stars squeaked out a 1-0 victory.
Connor Dunham-Fox picked up the shutout for the North Stars.
Dryden travels to Thunder Bay for games three and four on Monday and Tuesday nights. Kam River will be home to Fort Frances on Tuesday night for game three.
