St. Stephen warns maintenance could lead to boil water order
A boil water order may be coming, according to the Municipal District of St. Stephen.
Officials said the required infrastructure work may temporarily increase turbidity levels.
The district said that the change could trigger a system‑wide boil water order later Monday or in the coming days, depending on how the work progresses.
Crews are taking every effort to avoid issuing an order, but noted that they cannot guarantee those efforts will be successful.
The advisory will remain in place until the maintenance is complete or a boil water order is issued, and the district estimates the situation could last between 24 and 72 hours.
No action is required from residents at this time.
The advisory is precautionary only, and another update will be issued when new information becomes available or if a boil water order is declared.
