Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle calls for volunteers as campaign crosses halfway point
The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Kettle campaign has raised more than $161,000 of the $310,000 it hopes to raise by Christmas Eve.
The campaign places kettles at locations around the city each Christmas season to raise money for the operations of the Salvation Army’s Journey to Life Centre in Thunder Bay, such as food assistance, shelter, and supportive and transitional housing.
Red donation kettles are located at locations including Superstore, Home Hardware, Lowerys, the Intercity and Grandview malls, the Walmarts at Dawson Road, Memorial Avenue, and Arthur Street, and the LCBOs at Arthur Street, Thunder Centre, and Dawson Road (among others).
The campaign is still looking for volunteers to staff kettle locations. Those interested can call 807-345-6492.
