Drug and firearm seizure in the province’s capital

A 28-year-old man has been arrested following a recent investigation by the Fredericton Police Force’s Integrated Enforcement Unit.

On Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, during a traffic stop, the driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while impaired. During the stop, officers found and seized several firearms and controlled substances.

These items include 18 grams of fentanyl, 220 grams of cocaine, two ICE/methamphetamine pills, 75 grams of psilocybin chocolate, $4,000 in Canadian currency, and multiple firearms including a hunting rifle, a semi-automatic rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, and assorted ammunition.

He has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl
  • Operating a motor vehicle while impaired
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Psilocybin
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Various weapon possession charges

The suspect was remanded in custody pending a future court date.
