RSV outbreak declared over at La Verendrye Hospital; still in place at Rainycrest
Riverside Health Care is keeping masking requirements in place, despite an outbreak of R-S-V at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances being declared over.
The measure is in place at all Riverside-owned facilities.
Officials say it is an effort to protect patients, residents, staff, and visitors during the respiratory illness season.
“Medical masks are required in all patient and resident care areas, including patient/resident rooms
and hallways, treatment areas, waiting rooms, and common or shared spaces where care is provided,” a release states.
“Masks must be worn while providing care or visiting patients and residents.”
Riverside is still dealing with an R-S-V outbreak at Rainycrest Long Term Care.
Visitor restrictions are in place.
Riverside is also telling the public to self-screen if visiting any of its facilities and to stay away if they are not feeling well or experience any flu-like symptoms.
“We extend our sincere thanks to our staff and the community for their cooperation and commitment to infection prevention and control measures throughout the outbreak,” states Riverside.
