Fort Frances mascot now part of town water tower
There is a new look at the water tower in Fort Frances.
Wrapping at the top has been removed to reveal the tank has been repainted and the town mascot, Li’l Amik, appears along the side.
The town earlier agreed to include Li’l Amik on the water tower as part of efforts to revive the popular mascot from the 1970s and 80s.

More than $4 million in upgrades were also done to repair deficiencies to the outer and inner coatings.
The town holds 1.2 million gallons of water and is scheduled to be refilled next week.
Work crews have removed scaffolding from within the tank and are in the process of taking it down along the outside.
The tower was constructed in 1984 to provide the town with access to a capacity of stored potable water.
