New Brunswick hospitals welcome first babies of 2026

New Brunswick’s first newborn of 2026 didn’t take long to arrive.

Horizon Health Network shared the good news of Baby Caldon’s arrival, born at 12:02 a.m. on Jan. 1.

According to a social media post by Horizon, the little one was born at The Moncton Hospital.

It didn’t take long for the Saint John Regional Hospital to welcome its own first arrival.

Baby Crew was born at 12:18 a.m.

Horizon says they’ll be sharing news of other New Year’s babies from their other hospitals in the coming days.

The Vitalité Health Network had to wait a bit longer for their first newborn of the year.

Jaxon Lebel was born Jan. 1 at 7:03 a.m. at Edmundston Regional Hospital. He’s the son of Vicky Dufour and Samuel Lebel, both originally from Edmundston.
