Two Yarmouth businesses have received ‘tariff response’ funding.

It comes from the federal government, who say it will help with business growth and resilience.

Novatec Braids Ltd, is getting $900,000, while Tri-Star Industries will receive $375,000.

Acadie-Annapolis MP Chris d’Entremont says it will also help explore untapped opportunities.

“These are the things we can do, so we can get our products into new markets so we don’t have to rely on our partners to the south,” said d’Entremont.

Novatec plans to expand manufacturing capacity, and Tri-Star will get new equipment and technology to improve workflow.

“These companies sell their products internationally,” added d’Entremont.

“We want to help them compete on a global stage.”
