UPDATE: Saint John Police arrest 2nd man on Canada-wide warrant

Saint John Police located and arrested a 33-year-old man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant Tuesday.

The warrant was issued for Dylan Miller on Friday after he breached the conditions of his statutory release.

Police said they seized a quantity of drugs from Miller when he was arrested.

Miller appeared in Saint John provincial court Tuesday morning and was charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

He was remanded into custody until his next court appearance on Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m.

Police said he failed to return to Parrtown Community Correctional Centre in Saint John on Jan. 9.

Miller is a first-time federal offender currently serving a 4½-year sentence for sexual interference, printing/publishing child pornography, agreeing/arranging a sexual offence against a child under 16 and breach of probation.

Miller is described as 5-8, 190 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He has a tattoo on his right arm of Pontus/shark/Ariel, on his left wrist of a skull and sickle, on his back of a cross/wings, and on his chest of “Abigail 02:14:2015.”

He was last seen wearing a grey and black puffy winter coat, a dark plaid button shirt with white stripes, blue denim jeans and black winter boots that lace up.

Police have warned the public to not approach Miller.

UPDATE: Man wanted on Canada-wide warrant arrested by Saint John police

Saint John Police reported Drake Farren was located and arrested on Monday, Jan. 12.

Farren had been wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

A warrant was issued Tuesday, Jan. 6, for the 22-year-old after he breached the conditions of his statutory release by failing to return to Parrtown Community Correctional Centre in Saint John.

Farren is a first-time federal offender currently serving a five-year, five-month, 11-day sentence for:

  • Discharging firearm with intent
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle (x2)
  • Failure to comply with order – at large
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order
  • Offence under Youth Criminal Justice Act (x4)
  • Unauthorized possession of prohibited/restricted weapons,
  • Motor vehicle theft
  • Obstructing a public/peace officer

Farren is described as 5-5, 200 pounds, brown hair and blue eyes.

He has visible tattoos in his facial area, specifically above his right eyebrow, corner of his right eye, the right side of his neck, and on his left cheek.

He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a white New York Yankees logo, a red zip-up hoodie, grey sweatpants, black sneakers with a white Under Armour logo, black rectangular glasses and carrying a sling bag.

Police are advising the public not to approach the suspect.

Saint John Police investigating home invasion

The Saint John Police is asking the public for help identifying two males involved in a home invasion in the city’s south end.

According to police, on Dec. 29 at approximately 4:38 a.m., officers responded to a 911 hang-up call in the 100-block of Mecklenburg Street.

When they arrived, officers found an unconscious female in the residence. She was treated at the hospital and later released.

After investigation, police learned two males had entered the residence and assaulted the female.

Police don’t believe the residence or the female were the intended target.

One suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s, standing 5-7 to 5-9, medium build, with a reddish beard and moustache. He was wearing dark clothing with the hood up over a ball cap.

The second suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, short stature and slight build, wearing dark clothing.

Police seek woman after arson on Prince Edward Street

Saint John police are asking for help identifying a woman they allege was involved in an arson that destroyed a shed on Prince Edward Street.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Prince Edward Street at about 2:03 p.m. on November 15 after reports of a shed on fire.

Police said no one was injured, but the shed was destroyed, and a nearby building was damaged.

The Saint John Fire Department reported seeing a woman leaving the scene before police arrived, according to police. Investigators have not been able to identify her.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the woman in the provided photograph, or anyone with information about the incident, to contact the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333.

Police make arrest after uptown Saint John assault

A 38-year-old man was arrested Tuesday evening in relation to an aggravated assault at a business in uptown Saint John.

Saint John police responded to an assault at 5:21 p.m. at a business on Union Street.

Officers found a 28-year-old female employee who had sustained injuries as a result.

Police said the woman was transported to hospital by ambulance. Her injuries have been reported as non-life-threatening.

The suspect was unknown to the victim.

The suspect left the store on foot prior to the police arriving.

Officers immediately began a search of the area, and quickly located and arrested the man.

The accused was to appear in Saint John provincial court Wednesday morning, charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and failure to attend relating to an outstanding arrest warrant.

Saint John Police look for suspect vehicle in break-in

Saint John Police are seeking public assistance to identify a vehicle and individuals involved in a break, enter and theft in the Drury Cove subdivision.

According to a press release, police received a report of a residential break-in on Nov. 28 between 4:40 and 5:40 p.m.

The suspect vehicle, believed to be a white, luxury-style SUV, apparently circled the area for about 30 minutes before dropping off two individuals near a property in the neighbourhood.

Police said the suspects forcibly gained entry to the residence by breaking a window.

The suspects spoke a language other than English or French.

At this time, police believe jewelry was the only item targeted.

Pair arrested in south end murder investigation

Two people were expected to appear in provincial court Wednesday afternoon in connection with a murder in the south end earlier this month.

Saint John Police reported they’d arrested a 33-year-old man Tuesday afternoon around St. James Street South.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested later Tuesday in the area of Pitt and Wentworth streets.

According to police, the man was charged with second-degree murder, and the woman was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

The arrests were connected to the death of a 42-year-old man on St. James Street the night of Nov. 11.

Police had responded to reports of shots fired in that area and located the victim, who died after being taken to hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing.
