Beach Boys-signed surfboard hits TBCA auction
The Thunder Bay Community Auditorium is revealing the memorabilia up for bid in the second round of its 40th anniversary fundraising auction.
Proceeds will go towards renovating the auditorium to improve accessibility and fan experience.
The first round featured signed guitars from TBCA regulars Alan Doyle, Jim Cuddy, Greg Keeler, Paul Brandt and Johnny Reid.
“The artists that we chose specifically for the first round of auctions were people that had some pretty extensive history of playing the building multiple times,” said Andrew Edwards, Acting General Manager of the TBCA.
Here’s what’s on the block for round two:
- Guitar signed by KT Tunstall
- Guitar signed by Megan Patrick
- Guitar signed by Ben Haggard and Noel Haggard
- Guitar signed by Ziggy Marley
- Signed Posters including: ZZ Top, Jay Leno, Chris D’Elia, Ron White, Jesse Cook, Buckcherry, Alessia Cara
- Formcore replica surfboard signed by members of The Beach Boys
- Longboard signed by Cheech and Chong
- Drumskin signed by Doobie Brothers

These items will be available for bidding on Tuesday, April 7 at 1:00 PM and will close on Saturday, April 18 at 8:00 PM. The online auction can be found at tbca.com/auction.
“We have a lot of history over the last 40 years,” Edwards said. “We don’t want (valuable items) collecting dust in our archives. It felt right to celebrate our past and let items go into the community where they can appreciate them.”
The TBCA will announce two more rounds of auction in the coming months.
