Thunder Bay announces 2025 Arts and Heritage Award winners

The winners of Thunder Bay’s 2025 Arts and Heritage Awards have been selected.

They received their awards at a ceremony at Magnus Theatre on Thursday night.

The 2025 award recipients are:

  • Literature: Marion Agnew
  • Music: Small Town Bad
  • Stage Performance: Ivan Love
  • Visual Arts and/or Fine Craft: The Thunder Bay Museum – The Pillar Project
  • Cultural and/or Heritage Organization: Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre
  • Cultural and/or Heritage Festival or Event: Story Time with Thunder Bay Drag Queens
  • Cultural and/or Heritage Professional: Lynne Warnick & David Tranter, Entershine Book Shop
  • Achievement: Cultural and/or Heritage Volunteer of the Year: Sue Paskoski
  • Achievement: Lifetime or Professional Achievement in Arts, Heritage or Culture: Kelly Saxberg

“The Arts & Heritage Awards highlight the incredible creative energy that exists in our city,” said Cultural Development and Public Art Coordinator Caitlyn McMillan. “Each recipient represents the heart of Thunder Bay’s arts and heritage community, innovative, dedicated, and deeply connected to our shared sense of place.”

This year’s ceremony also marked the unveiling of a new award design, created by local artists Callen Retter and Robin Gathercole.
