End of summer Treasure Exchange Days event is set to take place

You have an opportunity coming up to enjoy some fresh air while searching for free items.

Thunder Bay’s annual Treasure Exchange Days are back.

Exchange days provide citizens with an opportunity to get rid of used items that are still in good condition.

The event is typically held twice per year, once in the spring and once in the fall.

You can put the items on the curb on Friday at 5:00 p.m. with a free label.

Over the weekend, residents can go on walks through their neighbourhoods in search of treasure.

Exchange days help divert waste from the landfill while extending the life of items that still have good use left in them.

All items not claimed by treasure hunters must be removed from the curb by 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The City’s Solid Waste & Recycling Services will not collect these items.

Exchange days were launched in 2014, as part of the city’s Solid Waste Management Strategy.
