Two American hunters fined for illegally hunting moose
Two American hunters have been fined for moose hunting violations.
Court was told the two men, Danion Chevalier of Quincy, Illinois and Michael Calteaux of Winona Minnesota, were hunting on Loree Lake, about 140 kilometers north of Red Lake in October of 2023.
While operating their motorboat, they spotted a moose in the water and positioned the boat close to moose and one of men shot it.
They both plead guilty of shooting a bull moose from a motorboat.
Chevalier was fined $5,500 and Calteaux $4,500.
They’ve both been banned from hunting in Ontario for two years.
