When Christmas Hurts service tonight
A special Christmas service for people who have experienced loss.
It’s called When Christmas Hurts.
Beth Courtney is one of the organizers and says Christmas is not a joyous holiday for everyone.
“I’m the goodwill representative for the Retired Teachers group…we lose many of our members each year, and their families struggle to deal with it, because grief never goes away,” explains Courtney.
Courtney adds after a lot of thought and prayer, she and others decided to pull together this service for people still grieving.
“Even if the loss has been a year, a few months, or two or three years, we can still use community to support and care for each other.”
The service takes place tonight at 7 pm at Lakeside Baptist Church on Transmitter Road.
