Press Play: ‘XO, Kitty’ Season 3 is on its way. Here’s what to expect
The popular series XO, Kitty is set to release on April 2: just a week and a bit away.
This show is a companion series to the movie franchise To All the Boys I’ve Love Before, focusing on Lara Jean’s younger sister, Kitty. In Season 1, Kitty moves to South Korea to learn more about her late mother by enrolling in the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS), the same school her mom attended. While residing in Korea, she discovers her maternal relatives and navigates her love life.
What to expect
Lara Jean Covey is making a special appearance in the new season. “It’s such a joy to be able to come back and see Anna,” says Lana Condor, the actress who plays the character, in a Netflix interview. Fans can expect to see her in not just one, but several episodes.
Alongside Lara Jean’s return, the new episodes track Kitty’s senior year at KISS. She vows to make it a memorable one: hanging out with friends, getting to know her relatives and mapping out her next steps.
If you remember how Season 2 left off, Kitty seeks out Min Ho to confess how she really feels, but instead, she pivots the conversation at the last second. With clear chemistry lingering between the two, you can look forward to new developments in Season 3.
Three new characters join the cast this season: Sule Thelwell as Marius, Soy Kim as Yisoo, and Christine Hwang as Gigi. They will star alongside the origianal cast Anna Cathcart (Kitty Song Covey), Minyeong Choi (Dae), and Anthony Keyvan (Q). You’ll also see real-life siblings Gia Kim (Yuri) and Sang Heon Lee (Min Ho), which explains why they look so similar.
I’m interested to see how the “enemies-to-lovers” trope will play out for Kitty and Min Ho…is it another romance disaster or are they end game? I guess you’ll have to find out on April 2.
