$300K from N.S. for Mavillette Beach in southwestern N.S.
A big boost from the provincial government to a popular beach in southwestern Nova Scotia.
In a statement on social media, MLA for Clare, Ryan Robicheau says, Nova Scotia is investing $300,000 in Mavillette Beach Provincial Park for new beach access, an upgraded parking area and to “refresh” the toilets and change houses.
He says it was a project on his to-do list after being elected.
“I would like to thank the constituents that bought their concerns forward and provided me with information and pictures that I was able to share with the Department of Natural Resources,” says Robicheau.
In a news release, the province says the 2026/27 budget includes $9.5 million for improvements to campsites, washrooms, roads, lots and trails.
In 2025, there were more than 103,000 overnight stays at provincial camping parks. Nine per cent more than 2024 and a new record.
According to the province, provincial parks attract more than a million visitors annually, with the number of campers increasing every year.
